Don’t forget history, Fayose response to his Deputy Olusola Eleka

21st May, 2022.

His Excellency,
Prof Kolapo Olusola-Eleka,
Former Deputy Governor,
Ekiti State,
Ikere Ekiti.

My Dear Brother and Follower,

RE: NOTIFICATION OF WITHDRAWAL FROM SENATORIAL CONTEST; I WASN’T DECEITFUL AND ARROGANT IN 2014 AND 2018 WHEN I CHOOSE YOU AS DEPUTY, GUBER CANDIDATE

I read your outburst in your letter to the National Chairman of our party, the PDP, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, on the withdrawal of your Senatorial aspiration for Ekiti South.

As my former Deputy and follower, a self-professed “Aremo Osoko,” even though I feel strongly that I should not join issues with you, it is important to set the records straight, especially on your use of words like deceitful and arrogant in addressing my person, which is highly regrettable.

Most importantly, as a political follower and a Professor of repute, I feel you should not forget history that soon, by allowing yourself to be taken over by emotions such that you will speak ill of a man you once called your “greatest political leader.”

Have you forgotten that you were in the classroom when I brought you to be my deputy in 2014 without being part of my emergence as PDP candidate? This is aside the fact that you were unknown to anyone in the party then.

Then, I was not deceitful and arrogant, but the best if I may quote you rightly.

Recall it was condition precedent that we will leave office together in 2018. Rather than leaving with you, I endorsed you as PDP Governorship candidate and by the grace of God, you emerged the candidate against all odds and interests. I became the enemy of those who were opposed to your emergence as candidate without being tagged as deceitful and arrogant.

I also worked tirelessly for your election as governor, and you know that you are not the governor of Ekiti State today, not because we lost the election.

Then, I was to you, the greatest among leaders.

Unfortunately in 2022, for reasons known to you, you missed the privilege of being endorsed as I did in 2018, part of what earned me your new title of deceitful and arrogant.

I have become a man you openly disparage, forgetting that everyday is not Christmas.

However, I consider this as prize for leadership. Nonetheless, all necessary lessons learnt.

Interestingly, the public you intend to get their sympathy against me are no fools. They certainly have a sense of history.

Eleka, as I always call you, I think it is time you do a soul searching and ask yourself what went wrong.

Finally, let me state that my love for you goes beyond political followership and my doors shall remain open for you always. I wish you well.

Best wishes.

Ayo Fayose
Governor, Ekiti State
(2003 – 2006 and 2014 – 2018)

Oni decries rate of youths’ unemployment, cybercrimes in Ekiti

Aspirant will restore lost glory, says ALGON ex-Chair, Adaramola

By Rotimi Agboluaje (Ibadan) and Ayodele Afolabi (Ado-Ekiti)

12 May 2022 | 4:06 am

Former Governor of Ekiti State and governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Segun Oni, has decried the rate of unemployment among youths in the state, as well as cybercrimes, popularly known as ‘yahoo yahoo.’

He said the level of joblessness could be linked to the rise in criminal activities, such as kidnapping, armed robbery and other unwholesome activities, promising to address the menace if elected as governor of the state in the June 18, 2022 governorship election.

According to a statement issued by the spokesman of the Ekiti Build Back Better (EBBB), Mr. Idowu Adelusi in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, Oni stated this when delegates of the EBBB, a pro-Segun Oni Campaign group, paid him a solidarity visit at Ifaki-Ekiti.

MEANWHILE, former Chairman of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Ekiti State, Toba Adaramola, has said that Ekiti State would witness unprecedented and uncommon progress and development if Oni is given another opportunity to govern the state.

In a statement made available to The Guardian in Ibadan, yesterday, Adaramola said that Oni had done it before in his brief stint as governor, emphasising that his works remained testaments to the fact that he has the interest of Ekiti sons and daughters at heart.

He said: “He is passionate about transforming and positioning Ekiti State on the path of economic viability, social security and sustainable development.

Adaramola, the SDP’s aspirant for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency I in the House of Representatives, said many factors would speak for Oni. He stressed that the forthcoming election would be unusual, saying it would spring pleasant surprises.

Eid-el-Fitr: Engr. Segun Oni felicitates Muslims, calls for Former continued piety

Former governor of Ekiti State and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate in the June 18 governorship election in the state, Asiwaju Segun Oni, has felicitated Muslims in Ekiti and Nigeria in general on the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

In a press statement issued in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, on Monday, by the Director of Media and Publicity of the Segun Oni Campaign Organisation (SOCO), Mr. Jackson Adebayo, the former governor praised the great perseverance of the adherents of the Islamic faith to course through the 30-day Ramadan month, adding that it was important that the lessons learnt during the period remain indelible in all hearts.

Oni said with the same spirit of dedication the Muslims endured the fasting period, he was hopeful that Ekiti state would witness the redemption it craved.

“I greet the Muslims for enduring the stress of the 30 days of fasting. I praise their endurance, patience and their surrendering themselves to reading the Holy Quran and studying the good precepts of Prophet Mohammed (SAW),” he said.

The SDP governorship candidate enjoined the Muslims to put into practice all they had learned during Ramadan, preach them to other people and condemn the ills of the society, “so that our society can be a better and safer place to live.”

He reminded Ekiti people that the state needed a good government to free them from penury and “the retrogression occasioned by the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government.”

He said he was “the answer and solution that Ekiti is looking for to make life meaningful to them,” adding that Ekiti people should come out en mass to use their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to reject the APC and vote for him.

The former governor promised them good governance as he did during his first term, maintaining that the realisation that the state had retrogressed since he left government made him to “take the bull by the horn by coming out again.”

He said: “We observed that our people have seemed helpless in the hands of wicked pillagers who had successively taken the reigns of governance.

“We thought it that if there is anything we can do to bring succour to the people and we fail to do that, God would not be happy with us.

” So, let us join hands and chase away our tormentors on June 18. And Ekiti will never regret their action, once I am elected governor.”

Hon. Dr Omotosho blasts Ayodele Fayose over his greedy attitudes

“SIR! Dr Ayo Fayose,

I heard you have imposed another person for the National Delegate which i can win on my name and despite my request and my investment in serving you meritoriously. How wicked can you be. You even collected 50k from me in my period of peril for the same form, which I paid into Funmi’s account.

So, It is very easy for you to particularly threw me and Maxima under the bus and walked away smiling.
Same you did to Sanya. Shame..

Such a very horrorful record you have just built for yourself, by paying evil for undiluted loyalty.

You repaid our honesty and commitments to you with weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Your matter at the 5th EKHA almost ruined me and Maxima.

Everybody hated me and Maxima just because of the way we desperately watched your back. Thinking we are dealing with a worthy leader. .

We left 25M Naira each at EKHA because of you. You never gathered us together for a day to give us 25 Kobo each. Not once!

In pains and in hardships, you abandoned us completely.

You left us without shepered and made our lives poor, nasty, solitary, brutish and short..

We got official foreign trip with dollars as official entitlements, and we ignored it, just because we love you…thinking it was worth it.

People were calling for my head for single handedly jump passing the supplementary budget in one single day for you in Sept 2018, failure of which, your story could have been different today.

EFCC came for you, I took the risk, putting myself in the line of fire..

DSS came, I was there fighting as a Lion.. Weeping on Camera under duress that my dedication to you, caused me..

Late Buruji ambushed you, God used me to thwart it.

Olukere confronted you, I was there!
And several others too numerous to mention.

There was no special financial compensation you gave me for all these, yet I soldiered on in honesty..

I became enemy no 1 to APC, only because I did not fail your trust for once.

I fought your battles everyday everywhere.

Why? Whyy??

Osoko Why???

The power God gave you after surviving all these landmines of your enemies through my and our supports and faithfulness to you, is what you are NOW using to deny us the rewards for our sweats TODAY.

You are acting God by attempting to declare His faithfulness in the land of forgetfulness.
Yet twice I have heard that all powers belong to God Almighty and Not You..

I have a political challenge for obvious reasons, for a whole year, you never assisted me nor gave me a dime. Despite asking you for financial help 3 times while drowning. You left me to rot but God saved me in His Mercy.

My mum died and I buried her after 9 months, you never assisted me with a dime.

I shouldered your political wars like no other to the detriment of my life and that of the family. Thinking that you will be there when needed, alas you are a pure ruse.

You resulted to blackmail me in your last message in your attempt to cover up, all my goods done to you in the past. But I am not the person to be swayed by such primordial style..

Everybody walked away calling you names but we stood to fight your enemies and we mix with your battles without care for our own safety.

Why?

You recklessly created an unending loop of use and dump forgetting that God’s structure of the society goes beyond that.

You knew the financial challenges that the political instability caused me in the last one year.

You are much aware of how I lost all my businesses and the cost of burying my brother and my mum within the same year.

You heard that I sold my car and sold my wife car to fight financial battles, but you aren’t moved nor bothered.

I came to Abuja convention in October against all odds to vote, you refused to give me the money meant for that purpose, a money that wasn’t yours, you held on to mine for no reason and you departed to Lagos despite that you know in my text message that I was coming to you that same evening, yet you left with my money and left me stranded in Abuja, until God used Hon Sina Animasaun for me.

You went as far as telling Ladi Adebutu who wanted to help and assist me financially to bury my mother never to do so, all for no reason other than pure personality disorders.

You have failed us and hence you have failed yourself woefully.

Be assured that we won’t go down financially by His Grace.

Be also assured that even in your old age , you will hear of our exploits politically by His Mercy.

You are a bad leader.
A leader in the category of rags.

It is clear that you know what you are doing but God is not a man that he should lie..

I leave you to posterity and God.”
