Lagos east bye election result has thrown a big blow on the face of entire PDP member in Lagos and Nigeria as whole with a shambolic approach put in place towards the election. Especially the choice of their candidacy.
The outcome of the results of the by-election show that Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos are nothing but just a mere political business set of people who their only aim is to syphon money during the election and connived with the opposition party.
This has been the same occurrence for over 21years without their leader putting on a garment of winning spirit rather fight while election is imminent and tussling for position who they have not used to achieve anything as far as PDP is concerned in Lagos State.
However, PDP members began to evaluate what led to the poor results of the election from different local government and began to throw accusing finger on their candidate Mr. Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi who only scored 11,257 against his counterpart Mr Tokubo Abiru who declared winner with 89,204 not only that, PDP members was bitter with the result their candidate got in his own polling unit, who only pulled 22 votes.
Saying this shows clearly that Mr Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi did not fail to win the Senatorial seat, but failed in his own unit.
The agitation lingered to the extent that the Peoples Democratic Party members were saying, if BOG could not pull enough vote in his own pulling unit, he shouldn’t expect other to die for him in their various units and local government with poor provisions for the Agent and the canvassers and neglecting of provision for adequate security and INEC officials.
This loophole gave the agents and some PDP leaders to show nonchalant attitude towards the election and gave APC all opportunity to outran them after he had collected some undeclared funds without releasing it for the election.
In the response to accusation of not releasing enough funds by the candidate for the election, Mr Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi (BOG) said, he may not likely contest for any public office any more but ready to be in the background and support the new s’oro s’oke generation to take over the political podium as he is ready to give his maximum contribution for their success also said that; “we need an influx of younger people, who, hopefully, can bring their immense skills, vim and vigor to the table, and we can all support them.to win elections.”
