Alimosho Ohaneze Ndigbo Endorsed Jandor

The Alimosho, Lagos branch of Ohaneze Ndigbo has endorsed the Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran aka Jandor, asserting that he remain the only reliable candidate.

According to the association, which gathered for the endorsement at Aquarium Hotel, 31/33, Road Gowon Estate, Lagos on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, Jandor is the only candidate who would guarantee the interest of the South Easterners as the Governor of the state.

Nwokoro stated at the event, which was attended by members of the group from Alimosho Local Government and five Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the area, that the government of Jandor would be for everybody, amplifying that it was time to allow the youths to take over governance in the country.

“I want you all to go out during the Governorship Election and vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) so that he can properly fix the state, unlike what we are experiencing now.

“Jandor government would be for everybody, he would not discriminate against our people. I had a meeting with him a few days ago, and I was impressed with what we discussed. We should not allow this opportunity to slip us by.

“Olajide is a good man, he knows what to do at the right time. He is a successful businessman, and he knows how to manage people. He would do his best for the state and I believe that we should give him a chance,” he said.

Likewise, the Chairman of Alimosho Branch of Motor Dealers Association and a member of the group, Mr. Okoli Donatus Osita said that the Igbos have nothing to fear during the election, and urged them not to fell intimidated by any group.

Osita stated that the Igbos know whom to vote for and that Jandor is the right person for the state, but that Ohaneze Ndigbo was not actually formed for politics.

“We know how politics is and we know Jandor. Many political parties are eyeing our support, but we prefer Jandor of the PDP.

“We have seen politicians with empty promises, but we want to give Jandor a chance, we will support him and allow a young man like him to rule Lagos,” he said.

Earlier in his speech, the Co-ordinator of the South Easterners in the Lagos4Lagos Movement and a member of the Jandor Campaign team, Dr. Jonathan Nnaji, who represented Jandor at the event, said that the PDP candidate is like iron meeting iron for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Nnaji stressed that Jandor is clever, and cannot be defeated by other parties, adding that he is a man with many ideas on how to improve Lagos State.

“If Jandor wins the election, the era of closure of markets anyhow will go and there will be no more discrimination. Those who voted for the Labour Party on February 25, 2023, Presidential Election are PDP voters.

“Peter Obi’s election is gone, we should now look at the personality involved. Jandor has an NGO that has supported over 120 Igbo men and women. He is 45 years old, and he has repeatedly said that nobody can influence him,” he said.

He said further that Jandor has promised to turn the area boys in the state into good boys, as they would be used as traffic officers in their various locations.

According to him, Jandor also plans to make use of the various park chairmen of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to secure their locations, as he would let them know that they would be arrested and dealt with if there is any case of stealing in their areas.

While urging the members of the group to vote for Jandor, he apologized to them that he could not make the event as he said that he was attending to some other stakeholders in his office.

Other leaders of the group at the meeting were the Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA Branch, Chief Omemma Onuoha, Chairman of Alimosho LG Branch, Chief Linus Nwaogu, Chairman of Ipaja Ayobo LCDA Branch, Prince Sunday Atiah, Chairman of Egbe Idimu LCDA Branch, Chief Chidi Benson and that of Ikotun-Igando Branch, Mr. Okoli Donatus.

Members of PFN Disassociate Themselves From Endorsement of Sanwo-Olu.

The members of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Lagos chapter on Monday 6th of March at Opebi in Ikeja disassociated themselves from the endorsement of the Lagos state governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu by some of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (P.F.N) for the March 11th election.

The convener of Apostolic Round Table (ART) Apostle Bolaji Akinyemi along with other pentecostal leaders, Pastor Eze Peter Winners chapel, Rev. Mrs. Bunmi Salami African Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) Missionary Mrs. Stella Gold Ozuzu, Dr.Femi Don-Ferguson, former director of planning and strategy/ PFN publicity secretary, Lagos state and President of Pentecostal Family Network (PFN). Speaking at the event, Apostle Akinyemi said, “it is necessary to come out as a member of the PFN to object to the endorsement of any candidate” emphasized that such endorsement comes as a shock to them by few people claim to represent the PFN thou they are persons of note, But, the body of Christ should be one fold one shepherd according to the scripture, the fold comes before the shepherd.

It’s expedient that the fold in the association must be aware, briefed, and consulted before carrying out such endorsement since democracy is the government of the people by the people and for the people.

According to Akinyemi, PFN members were not consulted and the members who should come first before taking such a decision to endorse a particular candidate were neglected and said such action is unethical, to create division among the members of the body of Christ, who must love all and promote peace.

However, Dr. Femi Don-Ferguson the president of the Pentecostal Family Network refers to the endorsement of Gov. Sanwo-Olu as being de-marketed by people who endorsed him and said the Pentecostal body of Nigeria were not aware of the endorsement rather, few people came up to endorse him.

Nevertheless, he said the likes of Pastor Oyedepo, Pastor E. A Adeboye, Pastor Olukoya, Pastor Wale Oke, and pastor Lazarus Mouka to mention a few, who are general overseers of the big churches in Nigeria were not aware of the endorsement, nor were the fathers in the body of Christ were consulted, they distance themselves from such endorsement.

Don-Ferguson said, PFN cannot endorse any candidate even if they should, perhaps, it should be a collective decision on which candidate needs to tell the citizens their plans, and agenda and be screened. Because there are so many Candidates on the ballot paper, if the candidate failed to keep to the promises he made, he would be able to be held accountable by the body.

The president of The Pentecostal Family of Nigeria allied with Dr. Bolaji Adeyemi in his statement that members of the PFN disassociate themselves from such endorsement.

Apostle Akinyemi said PFN are men of faith, and the kingdom of God must be their goal, the peace, and unity of the land should be paramount to the body of Christ. Asserts that the coming election must be free, fair, and won squarely, and whoever the winner is, so be it.

Furthermore, Lagos is a state of excellence, and the body of Christ cannot have anything less than excellent, so that what happened on February 25th will not repeat itself.

The body of Christ must encourage the followers to ensure that they come out to vote without being intimidated, and the Government must be held accountable at the end.

Don’t be scared Atiku will win ~ Lagos PDP

The Former Minister of Cooperation and Integration in Africa, Chief Abimbola Ogunkelu; Lagos State Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Philip Aivodji; Captain Tunji Selleh, among others on Wednesday, said the presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, will win the Saturday’s poll, urging Nigerians to come out en-mass to vote him, and not allow anybody to scare them.

The party chieftains made this assertion at the PDP State General Assembly which took place at the party secretariat at Onipetesi area of the state, where the excos and members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) led by its South-West Coordinator, Comrade Olusola Akingbola, were received and handed over party flag as members.

The NURTW leaders as well as leaders of Youth Grassroots Movement (YGM), Hon. Oluwadare Oyebamiji; Dr. Ayodele Elegbeleye of NYSM and Ahmed Yahaya Bello (WAZOBIA) described Atiku as the most qualified among those in the race, saying he would rescue the country if voted into office as next president of Nigeria.

Ogunkelu, who is also member, Board of Trustees of PDP, while applauding the commitment and determination of chieftains and members of the party, declared pointedly that Alhaji Atiku would be voted on Saturday as next president of the country, urging Nigerians to vote with their index fingers to make their votes count.

The party chieftain, while making the call, noted that Nigerians were currently in pains economically, among others, saying this was not the situation during 16 years when the PDP was in power, between 1999 and 2015.

According to him, under PDP rule, Nigeria’s economy was adjudged as the fastest growing in Africa, but noted that the country’s economy was now in shamble and education sector in worst state as “our children were out of schools for eight months.”

“Now we must change it. Of all that are campaigning, the one that can do it is Atiku- Okowa. Nigeria is on the road to break up. What we need is restructuring. We ran a truly Federal System of government in the First Republic until the military came. Now everything produced in Nigeria goes to the Federal GovGovernment, ich now gives stipends to the states.

We ran a truly Federal System of government in the First Republic until the military came. Now everything produced in Nigeria goes to the Federal Government, which now gives stipends to the states.

“Restructuring is the only way out. The only one that has espoused it is Atiku. So, the government led by Atiku will restructure the country, the economy, and implement all his programs and rescue the country.

“So it is important we vote for Atiku and PDP, come this Saturday,” he said.

Former PDP chairman in the state, Captain Selleh, while welcoming the NURTW exco and members into the fold, said this Saturday poll was one that must be taken seriously.

Selleh said Nigerians must be prepared to sacrifice by voting and ensuring that their votes count, even as he assured that BVAS was going to take care of the excesses of rigging.

Speaking further, Selleh described the PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku, as a unifier, a disciplined and very humble leader, to get what he wanted “from a bad situation, assuring that he would surely win the Saturday poll and bring succor by reviving the country’s economy once he takes over as next president of the country.

NURTW boss, Comrade Akingbola, in his remark, said Nigerians desired a president who respects the country’s constitution, “and not one that would use area boys against us,” recalling that Atiku demonstrated his respect for the country’s constitution when he served under former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

“NURTW is recognized by the Federal Government, go out and vote Atiku Abubakar. Don’t be afraid, go out and vote, they have been using us all the time. Resist them this time around, defend your votes,” he said.

In his welcome address, Lagos PDP Chairman, Phillip Aivodji, in his welcome address, stated that the gathering came about to let the whole world know that the party exco and members in the state were one and united without any division.

The party chieftain, while maintaining that Atiku would emerge victorious in Saturday’s election, said the former vice president stood out among all those contesting the position of president in the country as, according to him, he has sacrificed for the country.

This was just as he even noted that only two geopolitical zones, including South-East and North-East in the country, had not produced the president, saying Atiku is from North-East and qualified to contest

“That is why we should vote for Atiku, he is the only one who stands out. He has been with us in SDP. He stood down for MKO. Likewise, he has sacrificed for Nigeria.

“North-East has not been there as president since the return to democratic rule in Nigeria in 1999. Atiku will win the seat and you will not be disappointed. It is God’s project.

“Atiku will win, reject their money. Come out and vote. I want to call on security agencies to be alive to their duties. Take your destiny into your hand and don’t be afraid,” Aivodji said.

Atiku will resuscitate our economy and give Lagos youths a better development opportunity ~ Hakeem Olalemi

The Lagos State central PDP vice Chairman, Hon. Olalemi speaks at the ongoing PDP Assembly in Lagos on Feb. 22nd of 2023 at the PDP party Secretariat in Capitol road Agege. That, Atiku will resuscitate our economy and give Lagos youth a better development opportunity.

Olalemi said, “The season is upon us to choose our leader through our electoral franchise, and we need to make a better choice in Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (Waziri Adamawa) to resuscitate Nigeria’s economy.”

He stressed further that, Nigeria has witnessed a downtrodden in all spheres of our economy since 2015 when APC came to office and this has affected the youths who are majorly currently unemployed or under-employed. Our factories, especially in the areas in which we were proud to be productive, have now been converted to warehouses and churches due to policy inconsistency and lack of direction from the APC-led government.

However, the Vice chairman said, Lagos Central Senatorial District factories in Surulere and Apapa had been closed down, leading to massive unemployment in the area, thereby causing youths to become cultists and thugs instead of being productive.

Olalemi states that the trend can only be reversed by voting for the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the President and other PDP candidates in the Saturday election.

According to him, Alhaji ATIKU had promised to invest in women and youths’ employment and our votes can make this laudable idea of the PDP comes to fruition to give life and better living to our teeming youths who are currently disoriented due to the lack of direction by the present ruling government.

The increased case of violence and youths unrest in Lagos Central which is predominantly in Lagos Island, Apapa, Eti-Osa Lagos Mainland, and Surulere is due to the lack of gainful employment of the youths which the policies for Rescue, recovery and resetting of the PDP candidates aimed to resolve.

Considering the above, I am calling on all well-meaning Lagosians and especially, the people of the Lagos Central to shake off the hold of the ruling party in the state and reject the repressive government of the ruling APC by voting them out of office in the coming elections.

He state further that people should remember the statement by the former governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, SAN at ve of the 2015 elections where he urged the electorate to vote the government of APC out of government when they refuse to perform.

Hakeem appeals to the good people of the stairwell-meaning citizens of the state, including the educated elite of the state, to heed his advice and reject APC while choosing to vote for PDP Candidates in the coming elections.

In the interest of our collective future aspiration for a better country which we all can be proud of, I am using this medium to once again urge you to give your vote to the PDP, and we would ensure that promises made to the electorate are fulfilled in the Lagos Central Senatorial District and in Lagos as a whole to give our people a Breath of Fresh Air which our represents recent in

presidential and National Assembly elections.

According to him, the best of the current administration is not good enough for ordinary Nigerians, hence the need to vote for PDP’s presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Adediran stressed that Abubakar had solutions to the economic hardship and security challenges facing the country.

He added that the 2023 general elections provided the opportunity for Nigerians to right the wrongs.

“Our party’s flag-bearer, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar with just one of his policies will address two major issues confronting us – economic woes and insecurity.

“Atiku’s promise to set aside 10 billion dollars for women and youth empowerment will reduce poverty, revamp the economy and reduce insecurity, as youths will be profitably engaged.

“When refineries are brought back to life under a private sector arrangement, there will not be any point refining our products abroad anymore. This will also generate employment,’’ he said.

According to him, only Atiku has come up with a clear cut policy to recover and revitalise the economy.

“In all of the candidates, only Atiku is presidential. Atiku Abubakar even in the face of provocation from everybody has remained so calm.

No one sees him uttering any derogatory word against any of the candidates.

“He speaks to issues and peculiarity of each state. This is the man that we are following and this is the man that can take Nigeria out of its current situation,’’ Adediran said.

He noted that he had visited 193 electoral wards out of the 245 wards in Lagos State to solicit votes, and that he had seen the state of infrastructure decay and poor standard of living of the people.

The candidate promised to bring a breath of fresh air to the people of the state if elected on March 11.
